My bottom wisdom teeth were removed 7 weeks ago, and I wanted to share some tips with you on how I managed to survive this process.
1. Stock up on soups, puddings, yogurt, soft foods, and liquids before your surgery.
I made the mistake of not buying enough groceries beforehand, and had to shop with a swollen face. I found that I couldn't eat most foods from takeout places. Stay away from rice and bread. They can get stuck in your wounds and can lead to an infection.
2. Drink plenty of fluids and beverages that contain nutrients.
I couldn't eat solid foods for one week following my procedure. It was just painful and I couldn't bear it. I drank lots of soups and fluids that contained nutrients, such as booster shakes.
3. Drink black tea the first 2-3 days.
Black tea helps with the clotting process. If you lose the clot on your wounds, you could develop dry socket, which is painful and you'll need to see your oral surgeon for treatment.
