Free Smartphone Apps that Earn Money and Gift Cards
There are tons of free apps that will earn you money and gift cards. You can earn money or prizes such as gift cards from Amazon, Macy's, and Target.
1. Shopkick
Walk-in: This shopping app gives points for walking into certain stores. Walk into the store, open the app, and collect the points. Simple as that! You don't need to make any purchases.
They have had walk-in promotions where you can receive 200 or 300 walk-in points. That easily adds up, especially when you're going to stores you would be shopping at anyway.
Barcode Scans: Scan listed products while in the store to collect even more points.
Collect points by finding stars hidden in the lookbooks within each store. These stars are either points or bonus items. If you collect one set of bonus items (one set has 3 different bonus items), you get more points!

Gift cards:
Target, Starbucks, Best Buy, Macy's, Old Navy, CVS, Lowe's, Sports Authority, and much more.

2. Ibotta
I've been using Ibotta for 3 months and I've earned $45.75 so far.
How it works: There are products in your offers list (medicine, groceries, beverages) and when you buy that product at the store, you take a picture of your receipt and Ibotta gives you money. Each product has a different money back amount.
For example, there was an offer for Listerine Pocketpacks where you could earn $1.25 back. If you buy the Pocketpacks at the store for $3.99, you would actually be paying $2.74 for it. If you use coupons at the store, you would save even more money. CVS had a $2 extra cash back on Pocketpacks last month, so I ended up paying only 74 cents!
Ibotta pays immediately by Paypal. The minimum amount to cash out is $5.
You can sign up using this link.
3. JunoWallet
This is a new app that rewards you with money every time you download an app, complete a task, or like a Facebook page. It's a fairly new app so it's limited at the moment, but I'm anticipating they will add the other options listed (getting paid to watch a video, for example).
The money that accumulates in your account can then be used to redeem gift cards.
Gift Cards: Currently there are options for a $10 Starbucks gift card, $10 or $15 Itunes gift card, XBOX live points or gold membership, Nintendo 3DS prepaid card, or Playstation Network card.
Those are the options listed for my city, so the rewards may vary depending on where you live. Who couldn't use a free $10 for Starbucks though?
I currently have $6.08 in my account and it's been 2 weeks. I don't use the app everyday, but the money does add up quickly. If you sign up with a referral link, you get 25 cents to start. No referral link means you start at 0.
You can use my invite code: XX79543 when prompted. There are also a million invite codes from other people in the Itunes store too.
Use this app in stores to scan barcodes on featured items. Earn points by completing "easy points" when you're not in a store.
There are coins you can collect to play the slot machine or jungle scratchoff games. Note: product scans are reviewed, so make sure only to scan when you are in stores.
Gift Cards offered: Restaurant.com, Amazon.com, Home Depot, Itunes, Shell, donation to charities
