When I received my Revlon Expression Experiment kit to review, I wasn't expecting such a bold and empowering makeup and beauty products set. I grew up in a strict household that did not allow girls to use makeup or to express their creativity.
When I was caught wearing lipgloss and nude-colored eyeshadow to a school play, my mom beat me for days on end. When it comes to empowerment, it isn't about how bright that lipstick color is, or how someone would dare to wear bright blue nail polish. It's about expressing your creativity and standing up to th ose who are victimizers, even when it means stepping out of your comfort zone to do it!
When I first saw the Revlon blue nail polish, Indigo Night #180, in my kit, I thought "what is everyone going to think when I wear this out in public?" I have to change that way of thinking. Too often, women are limited in how they can express themselves, especially within the culture I was raised. I decided to wear it, and it was gorgeous!
1. Apply the base coat (dries within 1-2 min.)
2. Apply the nail polish (wait 2-3 min.)
3. Apply the clear top coat (dries within 1-2 min.)
Beautiful shiny nail polish in just 5 minutes!
Revlon's lipstick and lipgloss colors were as bold as the nail polish! I received Revlon's Colorburst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart (070), Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice (720), and Colorburst lipgloss in Sizzle (046).
Other items in my kit included:
  • Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer
  • Revlon Photoready Eye Primer + Brightener
  • Revlon Colorstay eyeshadow palettes: 565 Bombshell, 540 Inspired
I decided to create my "afternoon out and about" look based on the Inspired eyeshadow palette, the Colorburst lip butter, and the face primer and eye primer.

What do you think of my look? I am definitely loving the color blend. On the back of the Revlon eye shadow palette, there is a visual image of how to create the eyeshadow look. I can't wait to try out my other eyeshadow palette from Revlon!
I loved expressing myself with the Revlon Expression Experiment kit and encourage you to find your inner creative child and step out of your comfort zone too! Please join Revlon's self-expression movement onFacebook and to find out more about the Revlon Expression products I used!
