Yoga Sweat DVD Review

Four years ago, I made a vow to lose weight in a healthy way, establish better eating habits, and improve my health through exercise, meditation, and eating. Today, my efforts the last few years have paid off and it has been an incredible journey in finding ways to continue living a healthier lifestyle.

When I’m consulted for weight loss or maintenance, I like to advise people to find joy in exercise. I often see people lose motivation because their workouts became routine and “boring.” This is why every few months, I look for a new method or way to work out. When I came across the Yoga Sweat DVD by Julie Schoen, I had to give it a try. If I can have fun doing yoga, I’m willing to give it a shot!

Yoga Sweat is 80 minutes of yoga workouts that help to tone your body, burn calories, and most importantly, lets you have fun in the process! This is an effective way to lose or maintain your weight, without having to record hours each day at the gym.

I like my workouts to be intense, because if I don’t feel like it’s rigorous, I don’t feel like it’s making a difference for my body. In session 1, you hit the ground running by focusing on strengthening your legs. I’ll have to admit, I was already sweating halfway through session 1! In session 2, you continue with the yoga poses and the focus here is arms and back. You also work on the stomach area, for that tight tummy that you’ve always wanted.

I would recommend adding this to your weekly workout regimen as a fun way to tone and strengthen your core and whole body. Yoga is also an amazing way to de-stress and shift your attention away from the work or home responsibilities that are on your plate.

Julie Schoen does an incredible job at walking people through the yoga poses. Oftentimes, I will run across yoga instructors who assume that you are in the same shape as they are, and therefore can do everything immediately according to their teaching. Don’t let that fool you, though. This is a fast-paced, intense DVD designed to make you sweat! The fast-paced nature of the workout is what burns calories!

This looks interesting. I've always done yoga, but never really had an intense workout from it.
