Budget Gadgets sent me their USB fan for review. Initially, I didn't expect much from this fan since it was only $8.69, but I have been using it at work for over a week now and so far so good!
A fan in an office building with no windows to open is essential to daily survival. On top of that, we do not have a lunch/break room to eat. Everyone eats at their desk, so when you combine that with no ventilation and no windows to open, you get an eclectic mix of smells.
I needed a desk fan that was lightweight, could easily go with me and my laptop out of the office, and did not require a plug. I also wanted a fan to help with the heavy smells floating around, especially after lunch time.
Plug the fan into your computer, turn the dial switch to your preferred setting (varies from min. to max.), and you have a nice breeze.
The blades are made of a Styrofoam material, but is surprisingly sturdy. I am actually glad the blades are softer because I tend to bump into things, and probably would have injured myself.
There is a buzzing noise when the fan is operating, but Budget Gadgets ensures that this is normal. It makes sense considering I've never had a "quiet" fan before.
The great thing about this fan is that the neck is adjustable.
You can bend it side to side, further back, or forwards depending on your angle.
I had the fan plugged in for 8 hours a day and there was no overheating or problems.
